First Money Memory

How foundational money stories imprint our daily lives

Instructed by Jennifer van Dijk and Lisa Dempsey

Length: 2 hours & 30 minutes

Format: Guided visualization audio, videos, and worksheets

Course Description

Using guided meditation to revisit memories invites you to take a perspective that you’ve never really tried before. So I just ask you to keep an open mind.

This workshop was developed as I started to dig more into my own first money story and started talking to others about it. As a trained accountant, I'm used to rules and law structures. I have the habit of setting unrealistic financial goals for myself and then feeling like a failure when I don't meet them. I was so frustrated because I had all the tools. I have all of the education. And, yet, I was still banging my head against the wall about why I was not reaching my goals.

Ages ago, I read the book "What Got You Here Won't Get You There". The idea in that book was really from a career development standpoint, so what got you to your point in your career, won’t get you to another C-Suite or wherever you want to go.

But, in this course, the idea of “what got you here won't get you there” is that, if you are experiencing money blocks or goals you’re nor reaching and you've tried all the formulas, you’ve tried all the spreadsheets, all the 10 steps and they just don't work, then I challenge you to think of it from a different perspective.

Regards,
Jennifer van Dijk

Using guided meditation to revisit memories invites you to take a perspective that you’ve never really tried before. So I just ask you to keep an open mind.

So I started to think of my thoughts around money like a Rubik's Cube. Using meditation, I can just turn this Rubik's Cube of thoughts over and over and see my thoughts from different perspectives. Maybe I just have to keep turning this issue over. So that's what I invite you to do with these exercises. I wish I could give you an equation because I want to do that because I’m an accountant. But with these things I invite you to keep an open mind.

Who is this course for?

This online course is for individuals who would like to take some time to re-evaluate and re-envision their lives from the perspective of money.
